With the Troop’s annual trip to Summer Camp almost upon us, we realized we have several Scouts going this year who have never spent a week at Treasure Valley before. With this in mind, we’ve created a new Summer Camp Resource page with a lot of info that Scouts (and parents of Scouts) getting ready to go to camp should know.
You can check out the Summer Camp Resource page here. If you still have questions after reading it or wish there was some additional info that the page doesn’t cover, send a message to your Friendly Neighborhood Scoutmaster and he’ll see what he can do to improve it.

Hello, and welcome to the debut of the Troop 49 Website!
At the moment, it has very basic functionality, but this site will become the one central location for all Troop-related news.
Some features worth knowing about:
- Calendar – We’ve created a Google calendar instance for Troop 49. You can see it here. You can add the calendar to your mobile device (click the plus sign on the lower right of the calendar), ensuring that you’ll get automagic updates when events change or when new events get scheduled. If you don’t want the whole calendar, clicking on an individual event will give you the option to add that event to your calendar.
- News and Events – We’ll be putting up posts like this one for each upcoming event. These posts will include the information you need and may contain links to allow you to easily download any documents with additional info. See the post on the West Point trip for an example.
If the site doesn’t look like it has everything you’d want it to, don’t worry. We’ll be working on adding more in the days and weeks ahead. Some of the things we’ll be adding include:
- Forms – We’ll add a collection of links to all the forms you might need (like the BSA Health Forms) so you can find everything in one place.
- Lists – We’ll add a collection of lists to make things easy for folks, like a list of what to be sure to pack for a camping trip.
- Photo Galleries – As we get pictures from Troop events, we’ll be able to create albums to allow folks to easily view the pictures. When we have a mechanism in place for submitting pictures for the site, we’ll post instructions here on the site.
Are there features or information you’d like to see that you think we’ve missed? Send your suggestions to the Troop’s Webmaster.
