Feeds 4

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
  • 8 slices of bread (whole wheat works (holds together) better than white here)
  • Cooking spray or butter

Things You’ll Need

  • Metal bowl
  • Fork
  • Measuring cup
  • Measuring spoon
  • Skillet or griddle
  • Spatula

Instructions

  1. Crack the eggs into the bowl.
  2. Beat eggs lightly with the fork.
  3. Add milk, salt, and vanilla to the eggs.
  4. Beat eggs lightly again to mix everything in.
  5. Heat skillet or griddle and grease with cooking spray or butter.
  6. One at a time, dip a slice of bread into the egg mixture (use the fork to dunk it under), then put the soaked slice onto the skillet or griddle.
  7. Cook each side until golden brown.
  8. Serve, two slice of French toast per person.
  9. Eat.

Variations

  • For more people, adjust the amount of ingredients (for example, double them to serve 8 people).
  • Serve the French toast with various options for toppings, like powdered sugar, cinnamon, maple syrup, or even jelly.
  • Substitute maple syrup for the vanilla.
  • Try different breads like challah or cinnamon raisin.
