Training for Scouts Interested in Being Den Chiefs
If your Scout is interested in becoming a Den Chief, the Spirit of Adventure Council is running a Den Chief Training event on Sunday 23 April.
What is a Den Chief?
A Den Chief is a qualified and trained Boy Scout or Venturer who assists and supports a Cub Scout Den Leader by helping the Cub Scouts, and being a role model for them.
Who Can Be a Den Chief?
Any Scout who meets the following requirements can be a Den Chief:
- Has been a Scout for at least a year
- Has achieved the rank of First Class or above
- Has completed Den Chief Training
Why Be a Den Chief?
Being a Den Chief is great hands-on leadership training for Scouts. Providing Pack 49 with Den Chiefs is one of the ways the Troop 49 can help support the Pack, and help them to run a great Scout program. Strong and well-run Cub Scout Packs lead to strong and well-run Boy Scout Troops, so by helping Pack 49 today, we help assure Troop 49’s future success.
Where is It, When is It, and How Do We Sign Up?
The training will be held on Sunday 23 April from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at 1 Worthen Street in Chelmsford, MA.
Scouts can register for the training online here. Registration is now open, but the last day Scouts can register will be 19 April. The training cost is $5 per Scout. The training is free for any adult leader who would like to attend, although they should still register.
